Our interdisciplinary team, with a background in both interior design and architecture, covers all phases of the design and construction process. We consider every aspect of the built environment, from architecture and interior layout to finishes and furnishings. To us, the beauty lies in the details.

MEET THE TEAM

BRETT FOKEN | FOUNDER & CREATIVE PRINCIPAL

Having dipped her toes in her lifelong passion of interior design & architecture, Brett started following her design calling in 2014 after leaving a career in marketing. Brett’s business grew organically and she decided to officially launch Decorotation Interiors in 2016. Her homes over her lifetime have solidified her deep appreciation for West Coast style of living - effortless and comfortable with concepts rooted in nature. Brett finds a lot of inspiration in the surrounding beauty of Northern California and her travels. She loves infusing all of her projects with natural materials, found objects, and custom pieces that tell a story and age well over time. She believes no two projects are alike and looks at each one through it’s own unique lense.

KATHRYN LAZARUS | co-owner & ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER

Also a California native, Kathryn recently returned to the Bay Area after living on the East Coast in Washington DC. With over 14 years of architecture experience in a variety of project types she is thrilled to be a part of the Decorotation team focusing on residential interior design & architecture as well as project & construction management. Kathryn brings a wealth of industry knowledge, articulate attention to detail, a talented design eye and experience managing both large and small construction projects. She is passionate about beautiful spaces, precise detailing, efficient practices and working collaboratively with clients and a team to create elegant and functional designs.
